AUDITIONS
What do I need to know about auditioning?
1. Sing a Broadway song (not from The Sound of Plaid)
2.Choose an appropriate excerpt to showcase both the song and your voice that is no longer than approximately 32 measures.

3. Be prepared to sing with the piano accompanist that will be provided at auditions. (Singing with recorded tracks or singing a cappella is not permitted)

4. Bring a copy of the piano music to the auditions for the accompaniment with the starting and stopping points clearly indicated (If you need help finding sheet music, reach out to Mrs. Sharlow)

5. Memorize the music to better facilitate a more artistic and realistic performance. (Candidates may bring a copy of the music into the audition to refer to if needed.)

6. Dress appropriately to best present yourself and the music in an audition context. Be expressive with your voice, hands and body as appropriate to the music. Tell the story. Use your eyes. Move with purpose.
